Features
- Arcade Mode, with scoring. Select a character and a buster and go for a high score, navigating intense chain-based scoring and risky optimizations. Fixed most AIs to work reasonably, needs more testing though. View high scores on the main menu,
- Buster Select: any character can pick any of 2 busters - Buster Peng or 100 Boots. Buster Peng allows for a big flashy hit if it connects, 100 Boots can force an opponent off the edge even if blocked when used correctly but is easier to punish,
Balance
- High kick: Its low recovery was initially motivated by having it function as an advancing move that, on whiff, could set up a throw. However its recovery was too short allowing it to be too safe a move to throw out in neutral, so its recovery was increased to make its use feel more in-line with the other attack options. Recovery animation is played out to smooth the overall feeling of the animation,
- Critical hit knockback slightly decreased 60->55 to enable more interactions per round but retain the bite of getting whiff punished,
- Offensive bet: Adjusted distance and recovery such that it can be punished if done immediately after a normal hit. This forces the betting player to create or find a situation where offensive bet is (mostly) safe to use instead of having to use it automatically (with no downsides) which would just be busywork.,
Quality of life
- Vastly improved device support. Swap controllers in and out during/after play with minimal or no hassle. Made possible by major input system refactoring allowing for assigning any hardware device ID to any software device ID,
- Updated/fixed button config to work with new device handling system.,
- Hold pause button to pause gameplay (Prevents accidental pauses),
- Either player can navigate the menu,
- Skip stage intro/transition cutscenes by pressing A (or equivalent),
- If a player disconnects controller on vs results screen, the single remaining player (at least the keyboard always remains) can navigate to the menu of their choice without needing the other player to select something. This way the game doesn't have to be restarted to keep playing,
- Fixed overflowing description window string,
- Fixed UI buttons to activate on press, NOT on release
